A Lasting Investment
Landscaping is an investment in your property, with tangible and intangible returns. This investment is protected by proper design, skilled selection of plant material and by top-quality maintenance of the landscape. Our comprehensive approach - Plant Heath Care - will facilitate a positive return on your investment.

We offer our landscaping services in the early spring and fall. But don't wait until then to contact us. We'll need to do some planning and design work in the meantime.

Plant Material
When you want top quality plant material, Total Tree Health Care is ready to help by selecting plants appropriate for site conditions. After all, you shouldn't invest in landscaping if your plants are not going to thrive. We continuously research and select hardy cultivars that satisfy your tastes. From trees and shrubs to perennials, we can help you from design to installation and maintenance.

If you would rather install your own plants, we can still get them for you. All you pay is the retail price and a small shipping fee. We

If you prefer native plants in your landscape, we can help. Native plants are often the most resilient plants in our environment, yet they remain underutilized in the landscape. Ask us about quality native selections.

Planted Correctly
Our trees and shrubs are planted with supplemental biostimulants to ease the transplanting process and ensure quick establishment.

Many of the beneficial microbials that assist in plant growth are present in natural undisturbed soils. However they are quickly depleted in the urban environment from compaction, over fertilization, and the removal of top soil during construction.

Adding biostimulants during the installation process is like bringing the forest back to your soils. Here is what you get with every tree and shrub we install:
Root colonizing mycorrhizal fungi that extend the tree root's absorbing capacity
Amino acids and beneficial bacteria
Nitrogen solubilizing bacteria
Humic acids which help build healthy soils
Essential vitamins and amino acids for healthy tree growth
Chelated iron and natural sugars
Water absorbent hydrogel, which releases water during drought

The result is a healthier landscape. Your trees and shrubs will have a higher tolerance to drought and environmental stress and become more resistant to insects and diseases. Naturally!

Mulch Appreciated
In deciding how to mulch, you can either put rings of mulch around a trees trunk or where trees grow in clumps, a mulched bed can be expanded to include all the trees.

We recommend mulching a minimum of half the distance from the trunk to the drip line. A top dressing of fresh mulch should be applied yearly for aesthetic appeal.

  Mulching Services
Grass competes with tree roots for water and nutrients. Over time soil compaction from lawnmowers reduces the water and oxygen holding capacity of the soil. This is a big factor associated with root decline and tree stress.

Mulch should not be deeper than 4-5 inches and never placed in contact with the trunk.
Another common side effect of mowing and weed trimming is the wounding of tree roots and damage to tree trunks. Open wounds in major roots at the surface or wounding of the trunk allow decay-causing organisms to enter the tree. These preventable practices may lead to the eventual failure of a tree.

Mulching your trees and shrubs can successfully eliminate these and other problems associated with grass. When properly applied, mulch…
Eliminates competition with grass for water and nutrients
Reduces soil compaction
Conserves soil moisture
Protects your trees and shrubs against mowing equipment
Moderates temperature extremes
Amends soil as it breaks down
Adds landscaping potential
Is attractive
Is affordable

We use top quality shredded hardwood mulch to protect tree health. And, we finish off the edge of your mulched bed for a clean professional look by creating a trap - to keep the mulch from spilling into the grass and the grass from growing into the mulched bed.
